laserinoduo

Another lasering experience has passed, this time even less eventful than the last. I had a rip-roaringly hilarious time in the waiting room reading an old Christmas round robin letter that mum had found in her bag from a family friend ("I have got to know the local Morrisons"; "try experiencing a 14 seater bus with only 8 passengers"; generic comically selective details on the kids' success, etc). This was then followed by a lovely conversation amongst my mother and the three nurses about their various experiences of pregnancy, while I sat patiently waiting for their attention to be diverted to the vicious light rays being aimed at my face ("oh, goggles on now everyone... No, I hated it, one was enough for me. *sounds of laser* Jean though, she loved it didn't you? *smell of burning skin* She had three, she'd have another one at the drop of a hat, wouldn't you?" ETC). They are actually the nicest ladies ever, though. Fun times in the laser suite.

This time there are no visible effects on my face, which is quite nice, only dry skin which I am curing with vast quantities of E45 cream (addictive). I asked them about my stye of enormity which occurred after the last time, but apparently no-one had ever reported that as a side-effect (another classic "well that's never happened before" scenario), so I am praying that my eyes stay at normal size this time. What a lovely scene I am laying before you all.

In other news, I am doing very little work. Since I last wrote (long time ago, apologies), I have handed in 1/6th of my MA (yesss), been to see Hot Chip, the Noisettes (both AMAZING), had a Greek Geeks Chad's formal (toasting to Guy Lushington Prendergast a highlight), had a visit from K-Dawg, seen about a million theatrical events including DDF fun, Spring Awakening (Frau Jones strikes again), Oedipus Rex (dear GOD), and Sarah's poetry reading (very impressive). Plus the obligatory weekends at Waterstones, obviously. Also my lucky heart succulent (as photographed in earlier posts) has now gone into massive decline and will I think have to be planted in the garden next to Felix. Sad.

I am now going to make some notes on G. K. Chesterton and try to actually achieve something. Plus I have girly dinner this evening to look forward to and get me through the tedium. Go go go.
