I am currently sat on my bed, eating a Pink Lady apple covered in apricot yoghurt, drinking Earl Grey, listening to the National, and itching to get back to my landlord's daughter's Jacqueline Wilson book (I can't even go into how complex my issues with the Wilson are, but I feel you should read before you can criticise. Fortunately you'd only have to read one of her books, because they're all exactly the same. And yet I read on...)
Anyway I am now about to start my sixth week of interning for Cancer Research UK. It's all going nicely and we had a staff night out on Friday which was going well until about 8pm when I bailed to go and hang with my pigs. Trots is going to Cayman for two months, I can do work people stuff later. It was really fun though, and the rest of the evening was grand once I reached the Trot-house. Did a spot of kitchen dancing, finished off some vodka dregs, fell asleep watching Eclipse (understandable).
I've been having lots of fun down in the south. I know it's all a bit un-real-lifey at the moment, and that I left a lot of sad things behind me in the north which are still there. I am doing lots of nice things and wilfully ignoring my dwindling funds. I haven't done that much (read: nothing at all) about looking into what I might do once this internship is over. Apparently some jobs might be coming up in my office which would at once be good and complicated. I don't feel like I'm achieving much, in general. But I am happy. For now.
More to come, for at least the benefit of Kdawg and whoever else might happen upon me.
D x
