"My earnest hope is that the entire remainder of my existence will be one round of unruffled monotony."

remember

It's fine, it's only the 11th of January. That's not too late to do a 2011 retrospective. In fact, it's quite neat. Eleven is also my lucky number. And in bingo terminology is like a pair of sexy legs (whit woo).

JANUARY:
I saw in 2011 in Sheffield doing Kate Bush dancing and eating two puddings. This first month of the year involved Waterstone's sales stickers and belated Christmas party (sparkly Jesus, berating DJs), driving lessons in the snow and Masters graduating.

FEBRUARY:
Cancer Research UK internship, Horsham, moved to Three Bridges and met my lovely landlord & lady, the accents of Sussex women perplexed me, I lived 10 minutes away from Trotter.

MARCH:
I fell over in Brighton, discovered Greek food with Emz and Chrissy, saw Elbow in Newcastle and passed my driving test. I lived 1000s of miles away from Cayman Trotter.

APRIL:
I awkwardly chatted to sporty marathon runners, and was served beer by a child at Royal Wedding street party. I went to Russia where we ate veal tongue and peasant baby chocolate, played 'European or Gay?' until it had lost all meaning, and celebrated an 80 year old Russian man's birthday at a cabaret bar.

MAY:
Was part of the best dressed Eurovision fan team in Dusseldorf, finished my internship and moved back up north to evaluate my existence.

JUNE:
Angsty bedroom visits to my mind palace to decide where I wanted to be. Lots of Whitley Bay cupcakes, visits to Granny's Attic (the best Methodist-run junk shop on earth) and Tynemouth market trips. London to see Glee live and nearly grab Blaine Warbler by the face as he passed by. Decision to move down south and interviews with temp agencies.

JULY:
Beth and Luke get married, Voldemort and Draco have a difficult hug, Harri and I move to Brixton, Ted and Dougal bounce into our lives.

AUGUST:
Angsty bedroom job hunts and fruitless conversations with temp agencies, Salty becomes a musical star (and I am forced not to harass Sheridan Smith), I interview and start work at CR-UK within a week. Brixton splash and riots.

SEPTEMBER:
Turn 25 and have best birthday ever, involving Elephant, Dogstar, Tom Selleck and a miniature train. Encounter a velvety Stephen Fry at Betwixt. Kdawg and Pippa have sumptuous birthday weekend at Broxham Barn.

OCTOBER:
Darren Hayes, Noah and the Whale, Frisky and Mannish. Trots becomes old like me, our house fills with inflatable pumpkins.

NOVEMBER:
Lil and Mirko get engaged, I go to the Harrogate craft fair (hungover as tradition demands), do my first big committee meeting at work. Eat a pint of sausage rolls with Martin.

DECEMBER:
Mulled wine. Wicked, parties, drinking, saw Lady Sybil in the pub. Christmas dinners and Harri's birthday party. Stumpy.

Bon.
